How Intranet Sleuthhound works |
|
The first step is to define the Search Zone. The Search Zone is a searchable unit of information that is defined by where that information is originally stored, what subset of the entire information is indexed, and how often the information is reindexed.
After search zone has been created, it is available to users to search from Search Page. If you want to search documents, simply type the keywords into search box and click the command Find it!. Intranet Sleuthhound finds the keywords in its index database, assemble the results with HTML templates and shows to you list of documents which included required keywords via embedded small web server. The Results page contain the hotlinks to the documents and the extract from the documents text in "Web Search Engine" style. Since Intranet Sleuthhound uses modern methods of building index database and searching for the information Intranet Sleuthhound gives you instant search processes and instant results.

Creating Search Zones |

During Creating Search Zone Process User point Intranet Sleuthhound to the shared folders with User documents. iSleuthHound Search Zones Server reading the user documents and create the index database for very quick searching in the future. The index database stored in the Intranet Sleuthhound system folder. The User documents and corresponding iSleuthHound index database called Search Zone.

Searching the documents in the Search Zone |

To make a search for documents a User types keywords which he wants to search for in the Search Page. The search page is a HTML page which can be loaded with an internet browser by any users of your intranet network. Preferred browser is MSIE.
The Search page points the user's query to the embedded index in the Intranet Sleuthhound small web server. The web server connects to the iSleuthHound Search Zone server and prepares the result HTML page. After obtaining a search result from iSleuthHound Search Zone server the web server assemble these into a HTML template and shows the results page to the user with hotlinks to the documents with extracted document text for all matches. Clicking on the hotlinks, a user can open the document for edit/view or download it to their own PC for further work.
