Follow These Steps for Keeping Your Teeth Healthy

Even if your teeth are in nice condition, you must take all these steps regularly in order to avoid any kind of problems in your teeth.

Following are few important steps that you need to follow besides teeth cleaning.

1. Never go to bed by not brushing your teeth

You must have heard from your parents as well as dentist, who must have given this advice to you when you were a child that you need to follow all throughout your life.

You must also choose the right tooth paste for cleaning your teeth.

2. Brush properly

Just brushing teeth is not enough, you must use the right technique of brushing. Poor brushing will be as good as not brushing. So, take time to brush all parts of your teeth to remove plaque.

3. Never neglect your tongue

Even your tongue too may develop plaque, which may end up as bad breath in your mouth and can cause different kinds of oral health problems. So, you must gently clean your tongue too, while brushing your teeth every morning.

4. Use any fluoride toothpaste

As far as using the toothpaste is concerned, make sure that your toothpaste contains enough fluoride elements. You may check the ingredient of the toothpaste while buying.

You may also get recommendation from your dentist while choosing your toothpaste. Fluoride is an important defense against your tooth decay.

5. Treat both flossing and brushing as equally important

Often people who brush regularly may neglect to floss. However, it is equally important like brushing because some of the foods may remain stuck between our teeth.

Flossing will stimulate the gums and can reduce plaque. It also helps in reducing inflammation in that area.

6. Consider mouthwash

Mouthwash is also equally important for our oral health that many people may not be aware of. It will help in reducing acid formation in mouth and also clean those parts of the teeth and gum, which is very difficult to brush at home.

7. Drink more water

Drinking water is not only useful for our overall health but also for oral health too. One must make it a point to drink water after each meal. This will help in removing sticky items from our mouth and wash out any kind of negative effect.

8. Eat crunchy vegetables and fruits

Eating fresh and crunchy fruits can produce not only healthy fiber, but it can also be the best choice as far as our teeth is concerned.

So, you must try to avoid any overly mushy processed foods and try to get your jaws working more.

9. Limit sugary/acidic foods

Sugar ultimately can convert into acid in the mouth, and then it can erode all the enamel present in your teeth. All these acids can lead to cavities. Various acidic fruits, coffee and tea can also wear out our tooth enamel.

10. Visit dentist minimum twice a year

Last, but not the least, make it a point to visit your dentist for regular check up every 6 months so that if there is any problem, it can be found early.
